Mission:brain PAHS chapter successfully conducted a “Blood Donation Program” at the Patan Durbar Square.

Mission:brain PAHS chapter successfully conducted a “Blood Donation Program” at the Patan Durbar Square in collaboration with Nepal Red Cross Society on 31st May, 2025. The Blood Donation Program held at the historic Patan Durbar Square was not just about collecting blood but it was about changing mindsets, breaking myths, removing fear, spreading awareness and building a culture of compassion and giving.

The objectives of the program were:

1. To provide life-saving blood for those in urgent need through voluntary donation

2. To breakdown myths and fears

3. To educate and aware the public on the safety and importance of blood donation

4. Involve volunteers in a cause that truly matters, help them socialize

I am happy to say that we achieved all our objectives. A total of 47 heroes rolled up their sleeves to make a difference in someone else’s life.

A lot of planning and pre-preparations had to be done to keep things running perfectly smooth at the day of program which includes:

1. Take permission from the Lalitpur Metropolitan City for the venue of the event.

2. Coordinate with Lalitpur NRCS Blood Bank.

3. Manage tent rental services, donor food, posters, certificates for donors and volunteers.

4. Social media posts to engage and aware people about the event.

5. Find sponsors.

6. Manage volunteers and everything on the day of the event.

The total expenditure for this program amounted to $80, which included costs for tent, donor food, certificates and banner.

As the program coordinator, it was fulfilling and satisfying to have conducted this event. I am grateful to the donors, volunteers and the entire team.
